Welcome to the 9th International Squirrel Colloquium, an event dedicated to showcasing studies of squirrels worldwide. The Squirrel Colloquia are typically a vibrant meeting of ecologists from different parts of the world who come together to discuss science, network, form collaborations and promote the study of squirrels. These colloquia are typically organised every 2-4 years and move across countries.

This event will be a forum for exchanging a broad spectrum of research ideas ranging from ecology, life history strategies, evolutionary biology and comparative phylogenetics to the conservation biology of tree, ground and flying squirrels.

This is the second time the Squirrel Colloquium is being held in India, the first being in 2006. India is a biodiversity-rich tropical country and hosts many squirrel species, a pattern seen across much of Asia. We hope that locating the colloquium in the Global South will additionally increase participation from researchers from Asia and Africa.

Organising Committee: to be updated soon. The symposium will be organised primarily by the Sciurid Lab at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Tirupati (IISER Tirupati) at Tirupati, in collaboration with several national and international scientists.
